AFRICAN POET OF THE YEAR COMPETITION KICKS OFF IN A GRAND STYLE.

Respite at last for african poets as www.linesfromafrica.com Africa's fastewst growing network of poets is giving away gifts and cash prises worth over $100,000(usd)(apart from a FREE publication of your poetry in it's Hardbound anthology series 'angel portraits'). In a release by the organisers of this grand event,(African millenium poets' society), The competition which kicked off on saturday 1st december 2007, and will end on the 20th day of june 2008 will avail everyone who writes poem and between the ages 15-35 the oppourtunity to submit their poems on various topics.
However, as part of the buid up for the grand convention to be hosted by Nigeria in August 2008, where the african poet of the year with a grand prise of $10,000(USD) will be showcased for the world to see,seven poets from the world over will win the poet of the month award with $1000 cash prise and subsequently the poet of the day wins gift items ranging from i-pod shuffle, mp4s to flash drives.
